Experience the wild beauty of São Miguel’s eastern side on this full-day 4×4 tour through Nordeste, Povoação, and the island’s most untouched landscapes. From dramatic cliffs and waterfalls to peaceful villages and coastal views, this tour is a deep dive into one of the island’s quietest and most authentic regions.

We begin in Ponta Delgada and head to Miradouro de Santa Iria, a classic north coast viewpoint. From there, we continue to Ribeira dos Caldeirões, a lush natural park known for its waterfalls and watermills. Our journey continues east to the Vigia das Baleias (historic whale lookout) and Piscina e Miradouro da Ribeira do Guilherme, a quiet waterfall and natural pool area.

We visit the traditional Vila do Nordeste, one of the island’s oldest towns, and Ponta do Sossego, known for its beautiful gardens and clifftop views. We continue to Ponta da Madrugada, a stunning viewpoint famous for its sunrises and panoramic ocean panorama.

The day ends with a stop at Vila da Povoação, the island’s first settlement, near its marina and municipal pool, before the return journey to Ponta Delgada.
