At Safari Azores, we want every guest to feel welcome and well-prepared. Please read the information below before booking so we can ensure the best possible experience for you.

Our Vehicles

Our tours operate in 4×4 vehicles, which involve a higher step-up entry than a standard car. Guests need to be able to step up and seat themselves independently or with the assistance of their travel companions. Our guides are happy to assist where possible, but cannot physically lift passengers.

Physical Requirements

Our tours include stops at viewpoints, volcanic landscapes, and natural areas. Some stops involve short walks on uneven or steep terrain. Guests should be in reasonable physical health and comfortable walking on natural surfaces.

Tours are not recommended for guests who:

  • Use a wheelchair or have severe mobility impairments
  • Are unable to board a high-step vehicle independently
  • Have conditions that may be aggravated by off-road driving on unpaved tracks

Children & Families

We welcome families with children of all ages. We have the following child safety equipment available on request:

  • Child car seat (Kinderkraft, 5-point harness) — suitable for children from 9 months to 12 years / up to 25 kg
  • Booster seat — suitable for children between 125–150 cm tall (approximately 6–12 years)

Please request your child seat at the time of booking so we can ensure it is available on your tour day.

Infants and very young children who cannot sit in a standard car seat are not recommended on our 4×4 tours due to the nature of off-road driving.

Pregnancy

We do not recommend our 4×4 tours for guests in the third trimester of pregnancy due to the nature of off-road terrain.

Dietary Requirements & Allergies

If you have dietary requirements or severe allergies relevant to your tour (for example, if you are arranging lunch with your guide), please inform us in advance so we can advise accordingly.
